Indie brand Musely recently entered the longevity category with The Age Well Pill.

Longevity is top-of-mind in beauty. The Estée Lauder Cos. opened a Skin Longevity Institute in Costa Rica. At a longevity event in Paris, L’Oréal Groupe unveiled its Longevity Integrated Science platform.
Indie brand Musely recently entered the category with The Age Well Pill. This new daily prescription capsule delivers a strategic blend of science-backed ingredients aimed at boosting cellular repair, reducing inflammation, enhancing metabolic function and restoring energy from within—without ever stepping into a doctor’s office.
The pill is freshly compounded for each patient and delivered with 3-5 days after a quick 3-minute telehealth intake. The formulation features:
• Ca-AKG, a longevity-promoting antioxidant that supports circulation, tightens skin and helps protect against oxidative stress;
• CoQ10, essential for heart and brain health, while boosting mitochondrial energy;
• Fisetin, a senolytic that clears aging cells to promote healthier tissue and function;
• Nicotinamide Riboside, which increases NAD+ to aid in cellular repair and resilience; and
• Metformin, an inflammation-fighting agent that supports healthy blood sugar levels and metabolic performance.
The Age Well Pill retails for $90 for a two-month supply. Musely was founded by Silicone Valley entrepreneur Jack Jia. The company’s backed by a clinical board of more than 25 board-certified dermatologists and physicians. All of them say a prescription-only model may hold the key to more personalized results.
According to Jia, The Age Well Pill brings together five of the most powerful ingredients in longevity science.
“We chose compounds that are not only well studied, but that also work together in a way you can actually feel,” Jia told Happi. “Fisetin helps the body clear out old, tired cells. CoQ10 restores energy in the heart and brain. Ca-AKG supports metabolism and mobility. Metformin improves insulin sensitivity and resilience. NAD+ precursors recharge the cellular batteries that power everything we do.”
According to Jia, aging really starts with energy loss at the cellular level. When mitochondria slow down and worn-out cells build up, the whole body feels it, from fatigue to cognitive decline.
“The Age Well Pill addresses those root causes by helping cells clear waste, generate more energy, and keep key systems like metabolism, hormones and repair pathways in balance,” he explained. “The goal is not necessarily living longer but living stronger and healthier.”
Of course, Musely isn’t the first company in the longevity space. Jia said dozens of ingredients touted as “anti-aging,” often have little science to back them up. As a result, consumers are left to sift through conflicting claims, underdosed formulas and endless bottles of supplements with no clear guidance on what works.
Musely took a different path.
“We activated dozens of medical directors, board-certified doctors, pharmacists and chemists to comb through hundreds of studies and identify the most effective compounds,” recalled Jia. “Out of that research came a unique prescription cocktail of just five ingredients—each with decades of data behind it, combined at clinically effective doses.”
The result is The Age Well Pill, a prescription-strength treatment built for real efficacy. While some of the ingredients exist as standalone supplements, Metformin is prescription-only and strongly linked with healthier aging. More importantly, explained Jia, the power comes from how all five compounds are balanced to work together, with ongoing physician oversight. Supported by Musely’s telehealth model, patients receive not just a pill, but a complete medical approach to living stronger, longer.
Each ingredient in The Age Well Pill stands on its own scientific foundation. Metformin has decades of data in millions of patients. Ca-AKG has shown lifespan extension in animal studies and encouraging early human results. Fisetin has been validated for its ability to clear aging cells. CoQ10 and NAD+ precursors are backed by a large body of cardiovascular and neurological research. Musely brings these five well-researched ingredients together in clinically effective doses, under physician care, for the first time, according to Jia.
“Instead of piecing together scattered supplements of variable quality, patients receive a prescription-grade treatment that is both evidence-based and medically supervised,” he explained.
The Age Well Pill debuted earlier this month on Musely.com. Like all Musely treatments, it starts with an online doctor consultation to make sure it is the right fit. At $90 for a two-month supply, The Age Well Pill is in line with Musely’s other prescription treatments “because we believe longevity care should not be a luxury,” insisted Jia.
Musely got its start after Jia observed his wife’s beauty routine. Cherry Jia was spending thousands of dollars on luxury skincare that was basically scented water, while others were paying thousands for a dermatologist visit just to get access to prescription creams that actually worked, recalled Jia.
“There was no middle ground—either waste money on products with no science behind them or fight your way through a broken healthcare system for the real thing,” he said. “I believed technology could bridge that gap. I wanted to build a system where people could access prescription-grade treatments from top dermatologists at home, at a fraction of the cost, with real follow-up and real results. That was the spark for Musely.”
What started as a way to transform skin grew into something bigger. Today, Musely helps people not just look good on the outside, but stay stronger and healthier as they age, according to Jia.
“We started with skin because it is the most visible reflection of aging, and success there builds trust. When patients see their melasma fade or their wrinkles smooth, they believe in the science and in our model.”
Beauty and longevity are not separate categories, said Jia.
“They are part of the same story of ‘Look Good, Live Better’ – living better, healthier, and more confidently. The Age Well Pill is the natural next step,” he said.
Jia is a serial entrepreneur. Prior to founding Musely, He founded Baynote, a recommender system, and was the first chief technology officer and senior vice president of Interwoven, where he sponsored a noted BMW Z3 recruiting campaign covered by national and international news organizations. Jia has been a partner and advisor for GSR Ventures, a multi-billion technology venture capital firm, since its inception in 2005. He is an advisory board member for Santa Clara University and the president of HYSTA (Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association), a non-profit organization for promoting entrepreneurship. He holds several patents in software and website development.
In the past five years, Musely scaled 180x while competitors contracted. How? By focusing relentlessly on outcomes, according to Jia. Services include unlimited telehealth follow-up, real before-and-afters, and customized formulas created loyalty that ads alone cannot buy.
“Many competitors burned cash chasing growth without building long-term trust, and when ad costs spiked, they could not keep up,” he told Happi. “We invested in technology, operational efficiency and the science itself. That is why Musely grew while others shrank.”
How can Musely convince consumers to take a pill for the rest of their lives? Jia insists it’s not just adding years to life but adding life to years.
“Patients often notice improvements in energy and focus within the first few weeks or months, which makes the value tangible,” explained Jia. “But the real payoff is long-term, protecting your heart, brain and muscles as you age. The motivation comes when you realize you are not just surviving longer, you are thriving longer.”
And The Age Well Pill is just the beginning. Jia said “More Look Good Live Better” products are being researched and tested.
“Looking ahead, we see Musely becoming the home for prescription skincare, HRT and longevity, combining the best of science, telemedicine and personalization,” concluded Jia. “The way I see it, we are just getting started!”
